More Masks

Not long after the masks in the
were made, I cranked out a few more.

Yeah, I'm behind on posting!
Three of these went to one of
our sons and two grandsons.

More mask masking is in the near future.

Who's ready for this virus to go away?
Let's see a show of hands.

✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋
✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋ ✋

That's a lot of hands but
probably just the tip of the iceberg!

I'm praying for an end to come soon.

God bless you all.
Stay safe!

Mask Task

Hubby Geo and I needed
masks so I sewed some up.
Since Geo is an electrician, a light bulb
fabric was appropriate for his mask while
I am loving that spring is finally here!

A tub full of fat quarters was packed when
we moved into the RV, (as well as
a tub with yardages of fabric). The fat
quarters are perfect for making masks.
I might just have to make more.

Elastic has disappeared off the
face of the earth so I used
Jenny Doan's Mask with Ties
from the
Missouri Star Quilt Company.

Stay safe ya'll!

Stiching Up Sunglass Cases

Once upon a time
I owned two lovely pairs of
polka-dotted sunglasses.
Oh how, I loved them!
We were BFF's.

They were
red & white
and
silver & white.

One sad day about two months ago,
I lost the red & white ones!
😞
I'm thinking Dr. Seuss here.
It was bad.
I was sad.
How could I again be glad?

Okay, enough Seuss!
You get my drift.

The answer was simple!
A quick Amazon search
produced the perfect vendor.
Whimsical polka-dotted sunglasses
were happily smeared
all over my computer screen!

😎
Eureka!
Jackpot!
Happy Dance!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Seeing spots has never been more delightful!

I ordered
red & white,
(to replace the others)
as well as
 purple & white.

Oh, but matching sunglass cases
were needed so I took to
YouTube for something to make.

After watching various vids,
I settled on this easy to make,
with a herringbone pattern by Patty Young.

Here are the sunglasses
with their finished matching cases:

FRONT

BACK
Yes, I do love some color
and
they were fun to stitch up!

Yesterday, three more pairs of
polka-dotted sunglasses
were somehow ordered.

Somehow...

They are
orange & white
pink & white
and
royal blue & white

Yeah, I'm out of sunglass control
but who cares!
They should arrive today.
Of course, matching cases
will be in the works very soon.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It's the little things in life
that can make us happy,
and for me,
polka-dotted sunglasses
are one of them!

I'm also ordering fun foam visors!
Tee-hee-hee!
😂
BUT
that's another post.

Gotta run.

Bad weather is rumbling our skies.
There's thunderbolts and lightening ðŸŽ¶
Very, very frightening! ðŸŽ¶
Mama Mia, Mama Mia!

The Old is New Again

It's back! This old Nic Nic Quiltiac blog is new again! Yes, I'm returning to posting here, and I won't be posting on the Yak Yak Art blog anymore for various reasons. Basically, Hubby Geo and I are embarking on a new adventure sometime. He will retire sometime this year and we plan to start full-time RVing. Oh, if he'd only decide on a date!

Our owners, Elmer & Chewy, like RV camping!

With that in mind, I narrowed my creative focus to small art quilts with a little watercolor and whatnot thrown in. It's also a new year, new decade and I just happen to like change! Since I had cleared all but one of the previous posts off this blog when I stopped using it, it's been sitting here all fresh, new, sad and neglected. It recently started calling my name and what's a girl to do in that case but listen so this is the first post on my old, new blog!

By the way, we're currently living in our RV in the back of the driveway. The house is cleared out and we have a few things to do yet before we put it on the market. The Janome 6600 sewing machine is loaded in the RV as well as quilting supplies, watercolors and other creative necessities. I look forward to creating small in a small space! My other sewing machine and additional art supplies are all snug as a bug in a rug in our 10x10 storage space until we finish RVing and buy another house.

Speaking of watercolor--I found this sketch a couple of days ago that I had drawn awhile back so I took some watercolors to it.

It was fun!

Hope your day is full of play!
