Creative Cue

Over on the Three Creative Studios blog, a word is posted each Sunday to help inspire creativity. The project started the first of this year, and it's called Creative Cue. Participants can interpret the word with a sketch, drawing, art quilt, photograph or whatever they prefer. It's a casual project in which participants can contribute every week or just once in awhile--whatever fits the individual! We then post a link to our blog in a comment on their site so others can visit. I have done three so far, and they are ALL in this one post.

Since my sketching/drawing skills leave a lot to be desired, I thought this was a great opportunity to get some practice although I don't know as though that's what I'll do each time. Truthfully, only two were sketched. The last one is hardly anything that required actual sketching but I couldn't resist the humor.

WORD: EAST
I live in Texas but I was born and raised in South Jersey so when I thought of East, New Jersey immediately came to mind. The sketch is colored over with colored pencils and gel pens were used for the text.

WORD: HEEL
We were traveling so I put my shoe up on the dashboard and started drawing. Again, colored pencils were used.

Okay, this one is lame as far as sketching or drawing go but like I said, I couldn't resist the humor.
WORD: ODD

Now that I have these posted, I'll try to post as I go from here on out.

I look forward to a new word tomorrow (and the Super Bowl)--Go Colts!

Creatively Cuing,
D~~~~

I like your sketches> Odd made me laugh, and I really like the way you added wording to make texture on the drawing for east.

Aren't these fun and challenging? I like your interpretations. Odd just might be my favorite. Keep creating...
